COVID-19: Axia's Business Continuity Plan

To our valued community members,

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to evolve (by the hour), and Axia Litigation Lawyers (Axia) has implemented a Business Continuity Plan as a precautionary measure. At this point in time, no staff member of Axia has been affected by COVID-19.

Axia prioritise the safety and welfare of all clients, families, staff and the broader community. We kindly ask everyone to follow commonsense procedures, and good hygiene practices and precautions.

Our guiding principles in the construct of this plan were to:

  • Continue to serve our clients with minimal impact ensuring their and our business continuity
  • Take responsible action to help slow the community spread of the virus
  • Keep Axia’s employees safe

What would happen if we were to close our office?

As of 26th March 2020, Axia Litigation Lawyers has temporarily closed its Maroochydore office. Despite the office closure, our firm is set up to work remotely and there will be no significant change to the service we provide.

From the date our office closes, client conferences will take place by telephone/teleconference or Skype. If face to face meetings are required, we have protocols in place to allow this to occur whilst maintaining the health and safety of the attendees. Of course, our desire is to limit face to face meetings wherever possible.

During the office closure, we will still be accepting new enquiries/matters. Our office telephone number (07) 5370 2900 remains unchanged and will be fully operational. If for some reason you experience difficulties contacting us via our office number, our lawyers are contactable via email.

Whilst we’ve had to make some changes to address the COVID-19 situation, it’s ‘business as usual’ for us. Our entire team shall continue to service our clients remotely for the period that our office is closed.

What can we do to protect ourselves and others?

The most important thing is to maintain good hygiene. Wash your hands frequently, refrain from touching your face, cough into your elbows or into a tissue (before disposing of it). Shaking hands and other physical contact are being discouraged.

Obviously, if you are showing any cold or flu symptoms (e.g. headache, fever, dry cough, sore throat, runny nose), please contact your GP.

A genuine ‘thank you’ to all of our clients for your ongoing co-operation in this matter.

Please continue to reference updated COVID-19 information on the Queensland Health website or Australian Government website. These sites are being progressively updated and it is important to continue to stay in touch with the latest information.

We trust you understand our decision in taking the above actions. The health and safety of our clients and staff is our priority. We will continue to keep you informed if the situation evolves.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Practice Manager, Deneil or myself.
